Swainson`s Hawk (Buteo swainsoni)

Order: BIRDS OF PREY (ACCIPITRIFORMES ORDER)
Family: KITES, EAGLES AND HAWKS (ACCIPITRIDAE)

Included in ABA Region.


Usually seen soaring high in farm lands and open spaces, in Texas they were flying close to road sides, Hawk migration spots are best places to see them.. Seen noon till end of day, can be seen perched and flying as well. , Once spotted, it is easy to photograph, they will try to keep their distance though, but can be approached occasionally, Raptors usually do not respond to calls.
